Month 2 of the Winter Stream Warning Gaming Event takes a turn for the Arctic in this playthrough of an adaptation to John Carpenter's seminal landmark film. In The Thing Remastered, we head back to that familiar frozen outpost in the aftermath of the film to sift through the remnants of the camp. As you can imagine, it doesn't take long for this mystery to unfold, one menacing tentacles at a time. Infections spread, copycats emerge, friends can't be trusted, terror ensues. This shapeshifting horror is one that truly gets under the skin, taking the appearance of a man while hiding a monster beneath. In a true testament to body horror it makes meats sacks of its prey, wearing the skin of whomever it devours to circulate amongst the rest. If all this dread wasn't enough to bring even the bravest to their knees, not only can it create smaller, horrifying versions of itself to hunt you, but even if one molecule of this Thing survives, the cycle begins anew. Truly, the stuff of nightmares.

What an utter waste. This is what I get for being optimistic. With the exception of the animation, Predator Killer of Killers botches its premise and potential literally from the jump. From its aggressively annoying girl boss Viking opener, to its episode conclusions, to the end fight, to that surprise (?) closing scene, the disappointments were aplenty. It's almost impressive how this movie squandered so much that it had going for it. All this animated feature do was further embarrass the Predator when it had the opportunity to re-establish how dangerous this species really is. The way this movie portrays what should be recognized as the lead character, you would think that the humans are the superior race. Considering what a fail this film was, as an entry in the Predator franchise, as animated feature with a gripping plot, especially as an anthology, this paints a pretty bad picture for what director Dan Trachtenberg has in store for us later in the year with Predator Badlands.

Highest grossing, ya say? Original, ya say? I don't know what's worse, that they post these bold face lies because no one will question them or that evidence contradicting their narrative is readily available. Stop glazing #Sinners already
