Having returned from my Return to Silent Hill, I can tell you that this sequel serves as an enhancement from the first Silent Hill film. That is both it's greatest strength and worst weakness. Notice I mentioned 'enhancement' not improvement.
Strengths: Director Christophe Gans is in top form in terms of the visuals. From the town to the monsters, from the atmosphere to the camera movement, this guy knows exactly what he's doing to evoke the dread with imagery and imagination.
Weaknesses: Return to Silent Hill appears to have continued the deficiencies in plot and character from its predecessor. There was a plot thread from the first film that I felt was unnecessary and distracted from the story and the ending didn't hit quite as hard as it should have. I still recommend the film, but there are shortcomings that the director should've addressed from the feedback of the first film that could've made the sequel and all-time classic. A flawed sequel but faithful to the source material.

What an utter waste. This is what I get for being optimistic. With the exception of the animation, Predator Killer of Killers botches its premise and potential literally from the jump. From its aggressively annoying girl boss Viking opener, to its episode conclusions, to the end fight, to that surprise (?) closing scene, the disappointments were aplenty. It's almost impressive how this movie squandered so much that it had going for it. All this animated feature do was further embarrass the Predator when it had the opportunity to re-establish how dangerous this species really is. The way this movie portrays what should be recognized as the lead character, you would think that the humans are the superior race. Considering what a fail this film was, as an entry in the Predator franchise, as animated feature with a gripping plot, especially as an anthology, this paints a pretty bad picture for what director Dan Trachtenberg has in store for us later in the year with Predator Badlands.

So now that #Sinners won Oscars at the #AcademyAwards can we stop crying about how "Horror always gets snubbed" and stop overrating this 'From Dusk Till Dawn' Ripoff?
