It's always a relief to see Teen Horror that isn't reduced to Slasher fare. In Whistle, teenagers happen upon an Aztec relic that summons their own deaths. Naturally, being teenagers they treat this legend, not as the warning it should be heeded as, but as a joke and give it a try. Well, they were warned. The supernatural angle for me is the intrigue with this concept as well as the manifestations that death will assume when it comes for these high schoolers whose lives are tragically cut short by a relic they never should've toyed with. What may prove just as interesting is how the teens are able to overturn that which they've set in motion to salvage any survivors before death has claimed them all.

What an utter waste. This is what I get for being optimistic. With the exception of the animation, Predator Killer of Killers botches its premise and potential literally from the jump. From its aggressively annoying girl boss Viking opener, to its episode conclusions, to the end fight, to that surprise (?) closing scene, the disappointments were aplenty. It's almost impressive how this movie squandered so much that it had going for it. All this animated feature do was further embarrass the Predator when it had the opportunity to re-establish how dangerous this species really is. The way this movie portrays what should be recognized as the lead character, you would think that the humans are the superior race. Considering what a fail this film was, as an entry in the Predator franchise, as animated feature with a gripping plot, especially as an anthology, this paints a pretty bad picture for what director Dan Trachtenberg has in store for us later in the year with Predator Badlands.

So now that #Sinners won Oscars at the #AcademyAwards can we stop crying about how "Horror always gets snubbed" and stop overrating this 'From Dusk Till Dawn' Ripoff?
