It's a rare thing nowadays to be treated with fresh and interesting concepts within film, let alone within Horror. Rarer still are Scary Movies that stick the landing and manage to deliver on the promise of their unique premise. Unfortunately, the latter is where #Whistle manages to stumble on the interesting conceit of the former. The premise was a strong deviation from your standard Horror film set in high school, but it is the plot that lets it down. I'm even willing to give the film points in the character department as their are flashes of intrigue with unique characters and the way they play off each other but even then, the film lapses into familiar territory. While I enjoyed the movie for the most part, there are several hitches in the road holding back from greatness.

What an utter waste. This is what I get for being optimistic. With the exception of the animation, Predator Killer of Killers botches its premise and potential literally from the jump. From its aggressively annoying girl boss Viking opener, to its episode conclusions, to the end fight, to that surprise (?) closing scene, the disappointments were aplenty. It's almost impressive how this movie squandered so much that it had going for it. All this animated feature do was further embarrass the Predator when it had the opportunity to re-establish how dangerous this species really is. The way this movie portrays what should be recognized as the lead character, you would think that the humans are the superior race. Considering what a fail this film was, as an entry in the Predator franchise, as animated feature with a gripping plot, especially as an anthology, this paints a pretty bad picture for what director Dan Trachtenberg has in store for us later in the year with Predator Badlands.

So now that #Sinners won Oscars at the #AcademyAwards can we stop crying about how "Horror always gets snubbed" and stop overrating this 'From Dusk Till Dawn' Ripoff?
