At last we arrive at opening day. For me there is a great deal riding on this Mummy film because so rare are the opportunities that we get to redefine what a Monster Movie even is. Lee Cronin's film has the chance to burst through the cliches and branch out for this category of Horror film. While the scope is narrowed to a family, it is those very blood ties that heighten the stakes. The trailers and marketing have done a commendable job of building intrigue while not only keeping the plot under wraps (pun intended), but genuinely building mystery. Usually that word is exploited in the promotion without actually delivering on it, but from the ritual enacted upon the child, to the number of bodies found in the crypt, to the black pyramid, to what is inhabiting the child, everything about this movies screams "mystery". Let's hope that the screaming will only increase until the end credits roll. Are we primed for 2026's first sleeper hit?

What an utter waste. This is what I get for being optimistic. With the exception of the animation, Predator Killer of Killers botches its premise and potential literally from the jump. From its aggressively annoying girl boss Viking opener, to its episode conclusions, to the end fight, to that surprise (?) closing scene, the disappointments were aplenty. It's almost impressive how this movie squandered so much that it had going for it. All this animated feature do was further embarrass the Predator when it had the opportunity to re-establish how dangerous this species really is. The way this movie portrays what should be recognized as the lead character, you would think that the humans are the superior race. Considering what a fail this film was, as an entry in the Predator franchise, as animated feature with a gripping plot, especially as an anthology, this paints a pretty bad picture for what director Dan Trachtenberg has in store for us later in the year with Predator Badlands.
