The old girl's got some life in her yet! Yes Horror Fans and Deadites, it is the long awaited Watch Party of none other than 2023's Evil Dead Rise, the first installment in the franchise since the remake of one decade prior. Chronologically, this is the first Evil Dead film to take the series outside of the cabin in the woods and into the big city. This makes it all the more harrowing when the chaotic malice of the Book of the Dead unleashes its suffering upon a hapless family. When a mother turns Deadite, no one is safe and nothing is off limits. One by one, family and neighbor are set upon, one after the other, every victim turns to the dark side. The family and all apartment residents are trapped within this building from a freak earthquake, isolating all within, dooming them to a fate worthy of dread with a Mommy who will love them to death.

What an utter waste. This is what I get for being optimistic. With the exception of the animation, Predator Killer of Killers botches its premise and potential literally from the jump. From its aggressively annoying girl boss Viking opener, to its episode conclusions, to the end fight, to that surprise (?) closing scene, the disappointments were aplenty. It's almost impressive how this movie squandered so much that it had going for it. All this animated feature do was further embarrass the Predator when it had the opportunity to re-establish how dangerous this species really is. The way this movie portrays what should be recognized as the lead character, you would think that the humans are the superior race. Considering what a fail this film was, as an entry in the Predator franchise, as animated feature with a gripping plot, especially as an anthology, this paints a pretty bad picture for what director Dan Trachtenberg has in store for us later in the year with Predator Badlands.
