How many franchise can one film rip off? 2026 has suffered from sequelitis with everything from Scream to Scary Movie, and now we have Insidious the 6th. If the premise of brining wicked spirits from another world into ours sounds eerily familiar that's because Insidious Part 6 is plagiarizing Elm Street 7. It's bad enough these movies still reference themselves as "the modern Poltergeist", now they have to life ideas from a completely different, yet well known franchise. This series and its parent studio know no shame. I've long felt that along with just iterating on their core IP's the studio churns out Insidious movies to compete with The Conjuring, while both are creatively bankrupt. It's yet another journey into the Further, another excuse to bring back Lin Shaye because 6 entries in, they can't make interesting characters of their own. Rinse, washed, repetitive.

What an utter waste. This is what I get for being optimistic. With the exception of the animation, Predator Killer of Killers botches its premise and potential literally from the jump. From its aggressively annoying girl boss Viking opener, to its episode conclusions, to the end fight, to that surprise (?) closing scene, the disappointments were aplenty. It's almost impressive how this movie squandered so much that it had going for it. All this animated feature do was further embarrass the Predator when it had the opportunity to re-establish how dangerous this species really is. The way this movie portrays what should be recognized as the lead character, you would think that the humans are the superior race. Considering what a fail this film was, as an entry in the Predator franchise, as animated feature with a gripping plot, especially as an anthology, this paints a pretty bad picture for what director Dan Trachtenberg has in store for us later in the year with Predator Badlands.
