Tonight we have a special presentation on the life and times of make-up effects legend, Tom Savini. It truly is a testament to the greatness of Horror that its fans have such legendary figures that gather the core audience to celebrate directors, actors, writers, and tonight, practical application artists. From Savini's formative days in Pittsburgh to serving as a photographer in the Vietnam war, from his rise through the Hollywood ranks in special effects, to landing the status of Horror legend. Those are just his accolade behind the camera. Tom Savini has worked in film and television, he has played as an actor, dabbled as a director. One would be hard-pressed to find such a talent with involvement in so many prolific films: From Dusk Till Dawn, Friday the 13th, Romero's Dead movies, Grindhouse, Creepshow, and the list goes on. The title for this documentary is aptly named as the man behind the legend harkens back to a time of movie magic.

What an utter waste. This is what I get for being optimistic. With the exception of the animation, Predator Killer of Killers botches its premise and potential literally from the jump. From its aggressively annoying girl boss Viking opener, to its episode conclusions, to the end fight, to that surprise (?) closing scene, the disappointments were aplenty. It's almost impressive how this movie squandered so much that it had going for it. All this animated feature do was further embarrass the Predator when it had the opportunity to re-establish how dangerous this species really is. The way this movie portrays what should be recognized as the lead character, you would think that the humans are the superior race. Considering what a fail this film was, as an entry in the Predator franchise, as animated feature with a gripping plot, especially as an anthology, this paints a pretty bad picture for what director Dan Trachtenberg has in store for us later in the year with Predator Badlands.
