This is a good thing. Sometimes you need a reminder of what is great, if for no other reason than to dismiss that which is mediocre or masquerading as something exalted. Exhibit A, the Hellraiser Revival game. The outpouring of fan support, the drip feeding of trailer and diaries from the developers, the palpable excitement from the core base and Barker faithful - this game release is even coinciding with or perhaps responsible for Hellraiser comics revival and theme park attractions. So why didn't the 2022 film inspire any of this? Could it possibly be that it just wasn't good enough and wasn't the course correction or series savior that other pretended it was? Your Grand Inkuisitor Inkarnate asks the tough questions and brings some sobering answers. I hope you're ready for a deep dive into Hellraiser Lore because the harsh truths revealed in this breakdown just might sting a little.

What an utter waste. This is what I get for being optimistic. With the exception of the animation, Predator Killer of Killers botches its premise and potential literally from the jump. From its aggressively annoying girl boss Viking opener, to its episode conclusions, to the end fight, to that surprise (?) closing scene, the disappointments were aplenty. It's almost impressive how this movie squandered so much that it had going for it. All this animated feature do was further embarrass the Predator when it had the opportunity to re-establish how dangerous this species really is. The way this movie portrays what should be recognized as the lead character, you would think that the humans are the superior race. Considering what a fail this film was, as an entry in the Predator franchise, as animated feature with a gripping plot, especially as an anthology, this paints a pretty bad picture for what director Dan Trachtenberg has in store for us later in the year with Predator Badlands.
