It really says something about the director of The Witch and Nosferatu when he claims that #Werwulf is the darkest film he's ever written. Back, back we go to a time when mysticism was as terrifying as any monster. When ignorant villagers at least knew well enough to steer clear of the marshes, keep away from the moors, to beware the moon. Set in 13th Century England, a local folklore turns harrowingly real. With hungriest eyes and sharpest tooth, the stuff of legend takes on a terrible life of its own by taking lives for its own. Man's primal nature comes bubbling to the surface, and then grows fur. The world that this land takes us to seems every bit as terrifying as the wolf we're meant to fear. Something about the returning cast from both of the director's prior work to bring this tale to screens brings an eerie feeling all its own, as if the actors have rehearsed terror and dread for latest encore of danse macabre.

What an utter waste. This is what I get for being optimistic. With the exception of the animation, Predator Killer of Killers botches its premise and potential literally from the jump. From its aggressively annoying girl boss Viking opener, to its episode conclusions, to the end fight, to that surprise (?) closing scene, the disappointments were aplenty. It's almost impressive how this movie squandered so much that it had going for it. All this animated feature do was further embarrass the Predator when it had the opportunity to re-establish how dangerous this species really is. The way this movie portrays what should be recognized as the lead character, you would think that the humans are the superior race. Considering what a fail this film was, as an entry in the Predator franchise, as animated feature with a gripping plot, especially as an anthology, this paints a pretty bad picture for what director Dan Trachtenberg has in store for us later in the year with Predator Badlands.
