Well Gears fans, time for a reality check. We were sold a false bill of goods. What was supposed to be the grand comeback for the franchise on its 20th anniversary was instead an installment infused with the same propaganda and politics that necessitated a return to form in the first place. This is genuinely disheartening for long time fans like me because this series was in dire need of a win. Regardless, we soldier on. As the title suggests, this Gears of War prequel tells the tale of when the Locust Horde first emerged from the bowls of Sera to declare war on humanity. Even after a devastating Civil War, the COG didn't know what hit them, but would soon learn. We fill the familiar boots of franchise favorites Marcus Fenix and Dominic Santiago as they band together as brothers to confront this menace plaguing the planet. Here's hoping that there's enough quality gameplay to overcome the agenda that the behind-the-scenes was trying to push.

What an utter waste. This is what I get for being optimistic. With the exception of the animation, Predator Killer of Killers botches its premise and potential literally from the jump. From its aggressively annoying girl boss Viking opener, to its episode conclusions, to the end fight, to that surprise (?) closing scene, the disappointments were aplenty. It's almost impressive how this movie squandered so much that it had going for it. All this animated feature do was further embarrass the Predator when it had the opportunity to re-establish how dangerous this species really is. The way this movie portrays what should be recognized as the lead character, you would think that the humans are the superior race. Considering what a fail this film was, as an entry in the Predator franchise, as animated feature with a gripping plot, especially as an anthology, this paints a pretty bad picture for what director Dan Trachtenberg has in store for us later in the year with Predator Badlands.
